How To Crochet Strawberry?

Materials

You can choose any colors you like for your bunny, below is my choice for you as a reference. Looking for the best yarn for amigurumi project? Read the post about my best yarn for amigurumi to find out more.

• Sport yarn (or find these amigurumi yarn) with colors: pink, dark green, cream, brown, black.
• Hook size 2.0 mm or try with these hooks.
• Scissors, pins and needles. (crochet tool kit for beginners) (or find these)
• One pair of safety eyes size 8mm. Or black thread for sewing the eyes and nose.
• Stuffing (polyfill, cotton wool, etc.).

This pattern is written using US TERM. For beginners, please refer to this post to learn about all basic crochet stitches for beginners.

• MR: Magic ring/ Magic circle
• Rnd/rnds: Round/ Rounds
• Ch: Chain stitch
• Sc: Single crochet stitch
• Inc: Single crochet increase stitch
• Dec: Single crochet decrease stitch
• Hdc: Half double crochet stitch
• Ss: Slip stitch
• St/ sts: Stitch/ Stitches
• […] … x time: Repeat instructions x times
• (…): Number of stitches of each round

Notes

• For a better result, use single crochet cross stitch (yarn under) and invisible single crochet decrease stitch.
• Work in a continuous spiral unless otherwise specified.
• The size of the pillow will depend on the yarn you used. If you use the same materials as me, the finished size is 16 cm.

• Rnd 5: [sc 3, inc] 6 times (30sts)
• Rnd 6: [sc 4, inc] 6 times (36sts)
• Rnd 7: [sc 5, inc] 6 times (42sts)
• Rnd 8: [sc 6, inc] 6 times (48sts)
• Rnd 9: [sc 7, inc] 6 times (54sts)

Place the safety eyes between round 16 and 17, the distance between two eyes is 8 stitches.

Change to pink yarn – random changing color by cream yarn and sc 1 to make the seeds (or you can sew later).

Strap

Continue from the hood

Put the hood to the head.

• Ch 10(or more until reaching left size), ss into the first stitch of row 34. Turn the head and do: sc 10, ss into the last stitch of row 33.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Sepal

Use dark green yarn

• Rnd 1: sc 6 into MR (6sts)
• Rnd 2: [ch 8, sc into 2nd ch from the hook, sc, 5hdc, ss into the next stitch] 6 times
• Rnd 3: [5hdc, sc, ch 2, ss into the 2nd ch from the hook and in each stitch across] 6 times

Do not fasten off.

Pedicel

Continue from the sepal

• Ch 2, insert the hook into the MR, yarn over. 
• Ch 10, sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc 8 (9sts)

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

• Sew the sepal to the hood.
• If you don’t change color, use cream yarn (or yellow) to sew some seeds on the hood.
• If you don’t use safety eyes, use black thread to sew.
• Use black thread to sew the nose.
