I am in the process of making the giraff. The material I am using is very soft and larger than you recommend. I was wondering if you have a trick to holding up the head? I find it is too heavy for the body!
If you let me know I would really appreciate it.
I try to make these so that children can’t hurt themselves!

    1. Sorry for the late reply!!!
I think you should put a straw in the middle of the neck, cover it with cotton stuffing.
Thank you for loving my pattern!

    1. Sorry for the late reply!!!
Yes, you’re right. In this pattern, we will work in spiral so that no slip stitch or chain at the end of each round.
      Do not work in row.

  4. hi! I’m a beginner and bit confused on how the snout works – is this the chain method for making a circle or something else? thank you ❤️

    1. Hi, thanks for asking!
In round 1, stitches are crocheted on both sides of the foundation chain. Hope it helps.
Ask me if you are still confused.

  6. I’m confused by rounds 12 and 13 on the head. Bunching the increases together made 2 little protrusions on the sides of my head. Yet the head in the pictures looks very spherical like a standard increase then decrease ball.

  7. Hi there! I’m new to crochet and can’t figure out how to attach the arms. I’ve stitched them in with a needle in other projects, but have never added them in the round. I bought the PDF, but I’m having trouble figuring it out from the picture. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. The giraffe is so cute! I want to get it right.

    1. Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for your purchase. If you have the PDF, please look at image.3.
At round 20, sc 3, then adapt the left arm exactly like the image, and crochet 5 single crochet stitches on all three layers (image.3), continue to sc 7, and repeat for the right arm.
Let me know if you have any questions. I will soon consider recording a video tutorial on how to do that assembly.
      Happy crocheting!!!!!

  8. Thanks for your quick reply! I’m confused about what to do with the tail that I left on the arms. Do I use both that and the working yarn from the body, double them up? Again, thank you so much. Your creations are adorable!
