How To Crochet A Sleeping Dog?

Below you will find all the necessary materials for making a sleeping dog like mine. You can use your own yarn and color, or the yarn that I recommended below.

Materials

You can choose any colors you like, below is my choice for you as a reference. Looking for the best yarn for amigurumi project? Read the post to find out more.

• Sport weight yarn #2 with colors: orange, yellow, black, white. I recommend this kind of yarn for a beautiful result, Yarnart Begonia with color code #5307 and #003.
• Hook size 2.3 mm. I recommend this Hamanaka hook, perfect for crochet lovers. The grips are ergonomically designed to fit your hand when working and they are also designed to be long lasting. • Scissors, pins, needles. Fiberfill stuffing.

This pattern is written using US TERM. For beginners, please refer to this post to learn about all basic crochet stitches for beginners.

• MR: magic ring (magic circle)
• Ch: chain stitch
• Sc: single crochet stitch
• Inc: single crochet increase
• Dec: single crochet decrease
• Dc: Double crochet stitch
• Hdc: Half double crochet stitch
• St/ sts: Stitch/ Stitches
• […] … x time: Repeat instructions x times
• (…): Number of stitches of each round

Notes

• For a better result, use single crochet cross stitch (yarn under) and invisible single crochet decrease stitch unless otherwise specified.
• Work in a continuous spiral unless otherwise specified.

Assembly

• Sew the ears to the head at round 15.
• Use black yarn to embroider the eyes from round 7 to round 10, and the snout at round 2 of the head.
• Sew the back legs to the body from round 23 to round 28. 
• Sew the tail to the body at round 23.
• Sew the head to the body from round 6 to round 13.
