Cat Amgiurumi Pattern

Materials

You can choose any colors you like, below is my choice for you as a reference. Looking for the best yarn for amigurumi project? Read the post about my best yarn for amigurumi to find out more.

• Sport yarn (or find these amigurumi yarn) with colors: white, black, red, cyan, light pink, pink.
• Hook size 1.5 mm or try with these hooks.
• Scissors, pins and needles. (crochet tool kit for beginners) (or find these)
• One pair of safety eyes size 8mm. Or black thread for sewing the eyes and nose.
• Stuffing (polyfill, cotton wool, etc.).

This pattern is written using US TERM. For beginners, please refer to this post to learn about all basic crochet stitches for beginners.

• Rnd/Rnds: Round/ Rounds
• R: Row
• MR: magic ring (magic circle)
• Ch: chain stitch
• Ss: slip stitch
• Sc: single crochet stitch
• Inc: single crochet increase
• Dec: single crochet decrease
• BLO: back loop only
• FLO: front loop only
• St/ sts: Stitch/ Stitches
• […] … x time: Repeat instructions x times
• (…): Number of stitches of each round
• {…}: Work instructions within brackets into the same stitch

• Finished size is 17 cm (~6.6 inches) (sport yarn) 
• Gauge: 30 sts and 30 rows (10cm x 10cm)
• For a better result, use single crochet cross stitch (yarn under) and invisible single crochet decrease stitch.

Make a small pompom and sew to round 1 of the hat.

Beard 

Use white yarn

• Ch 30
• Then crochet 29 loop stitches.

ASSEMBLY

• Place the safety eyes between round 12 and 13, the distance between 2 eyes is 7 stitches.
• Use black thread to sew the nose (round 14, 15), mouth (round 16), and whisker (round 15, 16).
• Sew the arms to the head at round 20.
• Sew the tail to the body.
• Use pink yarn to sew the ears at round 6 and 7 (2 stitches at round 7 and 1 stitch at round 6).
• Sew the hat on top of the head.
• Sew the beard to the head from round 20.
