Material

• Sport yarn with colors: white, blue, sand, black, blue grey, orange.
• Hook: Size 2.3mm.
• Scissors.
• Pins and needles for sewing.
• Stuffing (polyfill, cotton wool, etc.).

Abbreviations

This pattern is written using US TERM. For beginners, please refer to this post to learn about all basic crochet stitches.

• MR: magic ring (magic circle)
• Ch: chain stitch
• Ss: slip stitch
• Sc: single crochet stitch
• Inc: single crochet increase
• Dec: single crochet decrease
• BLO: back loop only
• FLO: front loop only
• St/ sts: Stitch/ Stitches
• Sk: skip stitch
• Ss: Slip stitch
• […] … x time: Repeat instructions x times
• (…): Number of stitches of each round
• {…}: Work instructions within brackets into the same stitch

Pattern Notes

• Finished size: ~ 5 cm
• Making invisible crochet decrease stitches to have a better result.
• Work in a continuous spiral.

LEGS

(start with sand yarn)

Left leg

• Rnd 1: sc 6 into MR (6sts)
• Rnd 2: sc 2, inc 2, sc 2 (8sts)
• Rnd 3: sc 2, inc, sc, inc, sc 3 (10sts)
• Rnd 4: sc 3, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 3 (12sts)

Change to blue grey yarn

• Rnd 5: sc 5, inc, sc, inc, sc 4 (14sts)

Cut the yarn.

Right leg

• Rnd 1: sc 6 into MR (6sts)
• Rnd 2: sc 2, inc 2, sc 2 (8sts)
• Rnd 3: sc 2, inc, sc, inc, sc 3 (10sts)
• Rnd 4: sc 3, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 3 (12sts)

Change to blue grey yarn

• Rnd 5: sc 5, inc, sc, inc, sc 4 (14sts)

Ch 1, do not cut the yarn.

BODY

(continue from right leg)

• Rnd 6: sc 14 (left leg), sc (on chain), sc 14 (right leg), sc (on chain) (30sts) (image.1)

• Rnd 8-9(2 rounds): sc 36 (36sts)
• Rnd 10: [inc, sc 5] 6 times (42sts)

Change to sand yarn (change to white yarn on BOLD stitches)

• Rnd 11: BLO, sc 18, sc 6, sc 18 (42sts)
• Rnd 12: sc 18, sc 6, sc 18 (42sts)
• Rnd 13: [inc, sc 6] 2 times, inc, sc 4, sc 2, inc, sc 2, sc 4, [inc, sc 6] 2 times (48sts)

Use blue-grey yarn, join to the remaining loop of round 10 of the body to make the waistband. Make sure the legs are facing you and do: FLO, [sc 3, ch 1, sk 1st, sc, ch 1, sk 1st] 7 times (42sts) (image.2)

Cut the yarn, weave in.

Continue body

• Rnd 14: sc 23, sc 4, sc 21 (48sts)
• Rnd 15-16(2 rounds): sc 48 (sts)
• Rnd 17: [dec, sc 6] 6 times (42sts)
• Rnd 18-19(2 rounds): sc 42 (42sts)
• Rnd 20: [dec, sc 5] 6 times (36sts)

VISOR 

(start with blue yarn, change to white yarn on BOLD stitches)

• Ch 7, and stitches are now working on both sides of the foundation chain.
• Rnd 1: inc into the 2nd chain from the hook, sc 3, sc, {sc 4}, sc 4, inc (16sts)
• Rnd 2: inc 2, sc 4, inc 4, sc 4, inc 2 (24sts)
• Rnd 3-4(2 rounds): sc 24 (24sts)

Change to black yarn

• Rnd 5: BLO, ss 24 (24sts)

Cut the yarn, leave a long tail to sew.

EARS 

(use sand yarn – make 2)

• Rnd 1: sc 6 into MR (6sts)
• Rnd 2: inc 6 (12sts)
• Rnd 3-4(2 rounds): sc 12 (12sts)

Cut the yarn, leave a long tail to sew.

HONEY POCKET

(use orange yarn)

• Rnd 1: sc 6 into MR (6sts)
• Rnd 2: inc 6 (12sts)
• Rnd 3: [inc, sc 3] 3 times (15sts)
• Rnd 4: sc 15 (15sts)

Ch 42, sk 7sts, ss

Cut the yarn, leave a long tail to sew.

ASSEMBLY

• Sew the visor to the body from round 25.
• Sew the ears to the body from round 29.
